I needed a last-minute place for work and the cabin was the perfect spot. I have never been to such a serene place ~ yet I could walk 10 minutes to downtown. This is the most beautiful place in all of Dayton. You don't want to miss it. The WIFI was great and I loved watching all of the wildlife from the deck. The ealges, hawks, sandhill cranes and blue herons were unreal!.

...We were planning on only staying one night on our way to Yellowstone, but after such a wonderful night we skipped Yellowstone and spent the entire 2 weeks at Shire Valley. We rode horses, fished, kids swam, and me and my wife could just relax, no traffic, no people, no lines, no crowds.. Just pure bliss.

The cottage was the perfect place for our family of 4 during our week long stay in Dayton, The kids had a blast playing on the beach at "Florida". ( A great sandy spot right on the river.) The Johnston's were such gracious hosts and made our stay so memorable. We will never forget riding the Gently Giants through town. Greatest vacation ever!

...We've stayed in many vacation rentals during our travels, Shire Valley by far exceeds them all. We can't wait to go back. The cabin was brand new and had everything we needed. Kids loved the loft!
